Why in-home acupuncture matters for aged care

Can Support at Home funding be used for acupuncture?
Yes, in many cases. On 1 November 2025, Support at Home replaced the Home Care Packages Program. Acupuncture is included on the Australian Government's Support at Home service list under "Therapeutic services for independent living".
Whether it can be funded depends on the person's assessed needs, support plan and budget, and a participant contribution may apply. There is potential for Anthony to be onboarded as an associate provider with the client's Support at Home provider. To get this started, make a request to your care manager.

Treatment only goes ahead if the person is comfortable. A short, calm first visit with a familiar person present often helps.
